You can browse through google or any other search engine but you will never find such artworks as stone sculptures. The sculptor says that he just shows us the inner world of each stone, its essence, nothing more. He points out that it is not necessary to seek a deeper and spiritual meaning in his artworks, they just reveal to you the stone inside. His master’s hands turn the stones into food, clothing, accessories, purses, bags, they store gold coins and treasures like a cornucopia and a grin of row yellow teeth.

Hirotoshi Itoh graduated in 1982 Tokyo National Fine Arts University and became part of the family business as a stonemason. Initially, he creates sculptures from metal, but then he stats to use stones as a material. It seems that the sculptor feels the stone soul and he collect material for his sculptures from the river, located near his home in Matsumoto city on the island Honsyu. Hirotoshi Itoh creates his sculptures as he combines the original form of the stone and its hardness with a unique texture surreal humor broadcast, which we now enjoy.

In conclusion I would like to say that ’s stone-sculptures have a quite frightening view for some people, but the author has designed them to give people joy and smiles. “I’m glad if my artworks make the people smiling and wish to talk about my stones. Munch’s painting “The Scream” makes you wrinkle the forehead with worry, but my stones-sculptures are created to make you wrinkle from laughing, “says the sculptor.
